Planning an export order for industrial coatings
A buyer-focused sequence for technical approval, packaging, documentation, production and international delivery planning.
Close the technical selection first
Confirm the exact coating or complete system, substrate, preparation, application, colour, finish and quantity before treating logistics as fixed. Product chemistry and classification can affect packaging, handling and transport options.
For made-to-order material, allow for feasibility review, sample approval and specification confirmation. A freight estimate for an undefined product is an early planning input, not a delivery commitment.
Define the commercial route
Provide legal buyer, consignee, destination country and city, receiving-site type and access limitations. State whether delivery is expected to a terminal, warehouse, project site or another named place.
Share the preferred Incoterms rule with its named place. The rule allocates responsibilities but does not define every operational detail, so freight, customs, insurance and unloading assumptions should be written into the quotation.
Align quantity, packaging and labels
Confirm net quantity, pack size, handling constraints and label language. For multi-component coatings, make sure the ordered set and component relationship are reflected in packing and quantity planning.
Packaging availability is product- and order-specific. Request confirmation before designing warehouse or site handling around a container shown for another product.
Protect documents and schedule
List required commercial, technical, safety, batch, origin or transport documents and who reviews them. If a destination or project needs a particular statement or third-party document, raise it before order acceptance.
Build the schedule from confirmed production, batch release, freight and receiving dates. Product pages explain the route, but the accepted quotation and order confirmation are the authority for lead time and delivery terms.
